ブラジルからコロンビアに分布しています。よく分枝して、高さは９０センチ以上になります。茎は太く、赤い毛が生えています。倒卵形の葉は「ぶどう（葡萄）」に似ていて、光沢のある黄緑色をしています。冬に花序をだし、小さな白い花をいっぱい咲かせます。

シュウカイドウ科シュウカイドウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Begonia reniformis。英名は Grape-leaf begonia。

The Grape-leaf begonia (Begonia reniformis) belongs to Begoniaceae (the Begonia family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed from Brazil to Colombia. It is well branched and grows to over 90 cm tall. The stems are thick and covered with red hairs. The obovate leaves resemble grapes and are a shiny yellow-green color. In winter, it produces inflorescences full of small white flowers.
