コスタリカが原産です。葉が大きなコンキフォリア種の変種で、葉は小さくほとんど円形です。表面は光沢のある濃緑色で、葉柄の接続部分の上には赤い斑があります。夏に総状花序をだして、白い花を咲かせます。

シュウカイドウ科シュウカイドウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Begonia conchifolia var. rubrimacula。英名はありません。

The Begonia conchifolia var. rubrimacula belongs to Begoniaceae (the Begonia family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Costa Rica. It is a variant of the large-leaved "Begonia conchifolia" with small, almost circular leaves. The surface is a shiny dark green color with red spots above the petiolar junction. It produces panicles of white flowers in summer.
