ベトナムが原産の根茎ベゴニアの一種です。葉は大きく卵形で淡緑色、濃緑色と明るい栗色の斑模様です。葉の表面は、長い白色の毛で疎らに被われています。種小名は、本来の場所で採取したマリー・サイズモア（Mary Sizemore）に因んで名付けられました。

The Sizemore begonia (Begonia sizemorea) belongs to Begoniaceae (the Begonia family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Vietnam. It is a rhizomatous species. The leaves are large, ovate, light green, and variegated with dark green and bright maroon mottles. The leaf surface is sparsely covered with long white hairs. The specific epithet is named after Mary Sizemore who harvested it in situ.
