The Common button bush (Berzelia lanuginosa) belongs to the family Bruniaceae. It is a small evergreen tree that is found in northwest and southwest Western Cave Province of South Africa. It grows on moist slopes and flats and grows to about 2 m tall. It has slender branches that spread or stand erect. The leaves are linear, small, and narrow, and are arranged in a spiral around the branches. From spring to early summer, corymbs emerge from the tips of the branches and produce cream to white spherical flowers. The fruits are green to reddish capsules that remain on the branches for one to two years.
