ベルゲニア・プルプラスケンス [Index] [Back] ヒマラヤの中部からビルマの北部、それに中国の南部に分布しています。亜高山帯の森林や草地、岩礫地などに生え、高さは１５〜５０センチになります。葉は倒卵形から楕円形で革質、縁は波状鋸歯状または全縁です。５月から１０月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして、先端の散房花序に紫色の花を咲かせます。ほかの「ヒマラヤゆきのした」よりも花色が濃く花茎が長いのが特徴です。中国語では「岩白菜（yan bai cai）」と呼ばれます。 ユキノシタ科ベルゲニア属の多年草で、学名は Bergenia purpurascens。英名は Purple bergenia。 The Purple bergenia (Bergenia purpurascens) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from central Himalayas to northern Burma and southern China. It grows in subalpine forests, grasslands, and rocky areas, reaching a height of 15 to 50 cm. The leaves are obovate to elliptic, leathery, with wavy serrated or entire margins. From May to October, it extends its scape and blooms purple flowers in umbels at the tips.It is characterized by its darker flower color and longer scapes than other Himalayan creeping saxifrage.
