ブルーボネット

アメリカのテキサス州に固有の種で、州花にもなっています。草地や道ばたなどに生え、高さは２０〜４０センチになります。葉は掌状複葉で、倒披針形の小葉が５個あります。もっともふつうのタイプは、真ん中が白くて青い帽子（Blue bonnet）のような花を咲かせます。花期は３月から５月ごろ。テキサス州には、「ブルーボネットトレイル（Bluebonnet Trails）」と呼ばれるドライブコースがあるそうです。 |

マメ科ルピナス属の一年草で、学名は Lupinus texensis。 英名は Texas bluebonnet。 |

Texas bluebonnet (Lupinus texensis) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is an annual herb that is endemic to Texas and a state flower of Texas. This herb grows in grasslands and roadsides, and can reach 20-40 cm in height. The leaves are palmate compound with 5 oblanceolate leaflets. The most typical flowers are blue with white centers, resemble to blue bonnets. The flowers bloom from March to May. |
