南アメリカのペルーが原産です。高さは３０〜６０センチになり、卵状長楕円形の葉が互生します。７月から１０月ごろ、葉腋から散形花序をだし、青紫色の花を咲かせます。写真は園芸品種の「アメジスト（cv. Amethyst）」。 |

ナス科ブロワリア属の多年草で、学名は Browallia viscosa。英名は Jamaican forget-me-not。 |

The Jamaican forget-me-not (Browallia viscosa) belongs to Solanaceae (the Nightshade family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Peru in South America. It grows 30-60 cm tall, with ovate-oblong leaves that grow in alternate arrangements. blue-purple flowers appear in umbels from the leaf axils from July to October. The photo shows the garden variety 'Amethyst'. |
