ブッシーブルーステム [Index] [Back] アメリカの東部および南部、メキシコ、中央アメリカそれに西インド諸島に自生しています。日の当たる湿地または半湿地に生え、高さは６０〜１５０センチになります。葉は線形で長さ１メートル以上になり、緑色または青緑色で、冬に銅色に変わります。８月から１１月ごろ、大きなふわふわのクリーム色の花序がでます。密集した房状の花序にはそれぞれ、毛深い小穂が数対あります。  イネ科メリケンカルカヤ属の多年草で、学名は Andropogon glomeratus。英名は Bushy bluestem、Brushy bluestem。  The bushy bluestem (Andropogon glomeratus) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the eastern and southern United States, Mexico to Central America and the West Indies. This herb grows in moist or semi-moist soils in full sun, and up to a height of 60-150 cm. The leaves are linear, over 1 m in length, green or blue-green, and turn copper in winter. The large, fluffy cream-colored inflorescences are borne from August to November.
