メキシコからニカラグアが原産です。高さは３０〜５０センチになり、７月から１０月ごろ、オレンジ色や赤褐色、黄色などの花を咲かせます。ヨーロッパやアメリカで、観賞用や薬用に栽培されてきました。和名では「くじゃくそう（孔雀草）」と呼ばれます。 |

キク科タゲテス属の一年草で、学名は Tagetes patula。英名は French marigold。 |

The French marigold (Tagetes patula) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an annual herb that is native to Mexico and Nicaragua. This herb can reach 30-50 cm in height. It blooms orange, red-brown or yellow flowers from July to October. This herb has been cultivated in Europe and the United States for its flowers and medical properties. |
