メキシコの南部から中央アメリカに分布しています。混合林や牧草地の縁などに生え、高さは１．５〜８メートルになります。葉は倒披針形から倒披針状楕円形で、対生または３輪生します。茎の先の円錐花序に、赤紫色またはピンク色の花を咲かせます。花が下垂しないのが特徴です。

アカバナ科フクシア属の常緑低木で、学名は Fuchsia arborescens。英名はありません。

The Fuchsia arborescens belongs to Onagraceae (the Evening primrose family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed from southern Mexico to Central America. It grows in mixed forests and at the margins of meadows, and grows 1.5 to 8 m tall. The leaves are oblanceolate to oblanceolate-elliptic and grow in pairs or in ternate. Reddish-purple or pink flowers are produced in panicles at the end of the stem. The flowers do not droop.
