北アメリカ南部、メキシコに分布しています。茎は直立して、高さは１．２〜１．５メートルになります。葉は卵状楕円形で対生し、長い葉柄があります。夏、葉腋から花柄を伸ばし、直径１センチにも満たないローズピンクの花を咲かせます。

アカバナ科フクシア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Fuchsia thymifolia。英名は Thyme-leafed fuchsia。

The Thyme-leafed fuchsia (Fuchsia thymifolia) belongs to Onagraceae (the Evening primrose family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in southern North America; Mexico. The stem stands upright and the height is 1.2- 1.5 m. The leaves are ovate-elliptic and opposite, with long petioles. The peduncles are stretched out of the axils, and the rose pink flowers less than 1 cm in diameter are bloomed in the summer.
