The Furcraea bedinghausii belongs to Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Mexico. It grows in semi-arid areas, with a trunk up to 4 m tall. It has lanceolate leaves in rosettes, about 90 cm long, and long flower stalks that grow to 6 to 8 m long, producing large conical panicles of greenish cream bell-shaped flowers.
