"Hagoromo-gusa" (Alchemilla japonica) belongs Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed on Mt. Yubari-dake in Hokkaido, Mt. Shirouma-dake in the Northern Alps, and Mt. Kita-dake in the Southern Alps. It grows in subalpine to alpine meadows and sandy gravel, and is 15 to 40 cm tall. The leaves are palmately lobed. Small yellow flowers bloom in summer. There are no petals, and what appear to be petals are sepals. It is a close relative of the lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris), which is used as an herb.
