はいきんぽうげ (這金鳳花)

わが国をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国北部、北半球に広く分布しています。林の中や湿った草原に生え、高さは２０〜５０センチになります。葉は３出複葉です。名前のように、株のまわりに走出枝を出して増えます。５月から７月ごろ、鮮やかな黄金色の花を咲かせます。中国語では「匐枝毛茛（fu zhi mao gen）」と呼ばれます。 韓国語では「キヌンミナリアジェビ（기는미나리아재비）」です。これは「這う（キヌン: 기는）」＋「キンポウゲ（ミナリアジェビ: 미나리아재비）」の合成語です。 |

The Creeping buttercup (Ranunculus repens) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is widely distributed throughout Japan, the Korean Peninsula, northern China, and the Northern Hemisphere. This herb grows in forests and wettish glasslands, and it can reach 20-50 cm in height. The leaves are ternate. As its name suggests, it spreads by sending out runners from the base of the plant. The bright golden flowers bloom from May to June. It is called "匐枝毛茛" (fu zhi mao gen) in Chinese. In Korean, it's called "gi-neun-mi-na-ri-a-jae-bi" (기는미나리아재비). This is a compound word consisting of "crawl" (gi-neun: 기는) + "butter cup" (mi-na-ri-a-jae-bi: 미나리아재비). |
