南アフリカのケープ地方が原産です。耐寒性が強く、暖地では露地で越冬できます。ポピュラーな「オキザリス」の品種です。９月から１１月ごろ、霜が降りるまで鮮やかなピンク色で中心が黄色の花をいっぱいに咲かせます。日当たりがよい場所を好み、日照不足では花は開きません。別名で「オキザリス・ボーウィ」とも呼ばれます。

The Oxalis (Oxalis bowiei) belongs to Oxalidaceae (the Wood sorrel family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Cape region of South Africa. It is cold hardy and can overwinter in the open in warm climates. It is a variety of the popular "Oxalis", which blooms from September to November until frost with bright pink flowers with a yellow center. It prefers a sunny location and will not flower if there is not enough sunlight. It is also known as "Oxalis bowie".
