わが国の本州、茨城県から青森県の太平洋側に分布しています。日当たりの良い断崖や砂浜に自生し、高さは５０〜８０センチになります。葉はさじ形で枝先に集まって互生し、縁に波状の鋸歯があります。葉柄はありません。９月から１１月ごろ、長い花柄の先に白い頭花を咲かせます。 |

キク科ハマギク属の多年草で、学名は Nipponanthemum nipponicum。英名は Nippon daisy。 |

The Nippon daisy (Nipponanthemum nipponicum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Pacific Ocean Side of Honshu, northward from Ibaraki Prefecture to Aomori Prefecture in Japan. This herb grows on sunny cliffs and gravelly beaches, and it can reach 50-80 cm in height. The leaves are spatulate with wavy serration and arranged in alternated at the top branches. They are sessile. The white flower-heads bloom atop of long peduncles from September to November. |
