北アフリカ、おそらくはモロッコが原産だと考えられています。「しゅんぎく」の近縁種です。高さは６０センチほどになり、葉は羽状に分裂します。７月から９月ごろ、白色の地に黄色い覆輪の頭花を咲かせます。園芸品種も多く作出され、花色も豊富です。別名で「さんしきカミツレ（三色カミツレ）」とも呼ばれます。

キク科キク属の一年草で、学名は Chrysanthemum carinatum。英名は Tricolor chrysanthemum。

The Tricolor chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum carinatum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an annual herb that is believed to be native to North Africa, possibly Morocco. It is a relative species of chop-suey greens. This herb can reach about 60 cm in height, and the leaves are devided into lobes pinnately. It blooms white flower-heads with yellow variegated margin from July to September. Many cultivars with various flower colors are breeded. The 4-5th and bottom photos show the horticultural variety "Coconuts Ice".
