西オーストラリア州の南西部に分布しています。海岸沿いの砂平原や砂丘に生えます。蔓性で、他の植物の幹に絡ませて伸び、長さは２．５メートルほどになります。葉はふつう三出葉で、濃緑色で広線形から卵形の小葉がつきます。冬から春にかけて、ふじ色から紫色り蝶形花を咲かせます。

マメ科ハーデンベルギア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Hardenbergia comptoniana。英名は Native wisteria、West Australian coral pea。

The native wisteria (Hardenbergia comptoniana) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to south-western of Western Australia. This shrub grows in coastal sandplains and dunes. It is a climbling plant whose branches twist around the stems of other plants and can reach 2.5 m long. The leaves are usually trifoliate with dark green, broadly linear to ovate leaflets. The mauve to purple papilionacenous flowers bloom in winter and spring.
