北アメリカが原産です。わが国には１８７７年に渡来しました。別名で「にせアカシア」とも呼ばれます。成長が早く、痩せ地でも旺盛に生育するため、砂防用の緑化樹として植栽されてきました。５月から６月ごろ、多くの白い花を咲かせます。この花からは良質の蜂蜜が採れます。 |

マメ科ハリエンジュ属の落葉高木で、学名は Robinia pseudo-acacia。英名は Black locust。 |

The Black locust (Robinia pseudo-acacia) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a tall deciduous tree that is native to North America. It was introduced into Japan in 1877. This tree grows fast and can grow well in barrens. It has been planted for erosion and torrent control. The many white flowers appear from May to June. High-quality honey is derived from the nectar of this flowers. |
