The Harvey lemon (Citrus limon cv. Harvey) is of unknown parentage. The name comes from its founder, Harvey Smith. He founded the lemon back in the 1940s and brought it to Clearwater, Florida. This tree is hardy, upright and thornless. It has proven to be more cold-tolerant than other lemon varieties (i.e. Eureka, Meyer). The fruit has typical lemon shape and tart, juicy true lemon flavor. It ripens in September to March.
