南アフリカの東ケープ地方に分布しています。ズーバーグ山地の斜面の砂礫地に生え、直径は８センチほどですが塔状に長く伸びます。有茎で葉は硬く、青灰色をしています。花茎を伸ばして、小さな２弁の白い花を咲かせます。園芸上は「釣鐘（つりがね）」と呼ばれるそうです。

ユリ科ハオルチア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Haworthia glauca。英名はありません。

Haworthia glauca belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evegreen herb that is distributed in the eastern Cape region of South Africa. This herb grows in the gravel of the slope of the Zuurberg mountain range, and its diameter is about 8 cm, but it extends long like a tower. It is a caulescent plant, the leaves are hard and blue-gray. It streches the flower stalk and blooms white flowers of two small petals.
