南アフリカの西ケープ地方が原産です。トルンカータ種の変種で、ゾウの足のような形をしています。長さは２．５センチほどで、葉の先端は水平になり、透明な窓があります。冬の降雨期に成長し、夏の乾燥期には休眠します。園芸上は「まんぞう（万象）」と呼ばれます。

ユリ科ハオルチア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Haworthia truncata var. maughanii。英名はありません。

The Haworthia truncata var. maughanii belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Western Cape region of South Africa. It is a variant of the Haworthia truncata and is shaped like an elephant's foot. It is about 2.5 cm long, with horizontal leaf tips and a transparent window. It grows during the winter rainy season and goes dormant during the dry summer season. Horticulturally, it is called "万象" (Manzo) in Japan.
