The Hebe 'Greensleeves' belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). The genus Hebe has about 140 species, most of which are found in New Zealand, Australia, and South America. This is a garden variety of the South Island species Hebe ochracea, created by Graham Hutchins in 1973. It is about 60 cm tall. The leaves are small, scale-like, and closely attached to the stem ridges, giving the whole plant a whipstring-like appearance. Clusters of white flowers bloom at the ends of the stems from early summer to summer.
