ニュージーランドの南島に分布しています。高さは９０センチほどになり、ドーム状の樹冠を形成します。葉はライトグリーンで槍形をしています。その長さは２センチ程度で、やや光沢があります。夏、枝先に円錐花序をだし、白い花を咲かせます。イギリスでは丈夫な潅木として、よく庭園に植栽されるそうです。

ゴマノハグサ科ヘーベ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Hebe rakaiensis。英名はありません。

The Hebe rakaiensis belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in the South Island of New Zealand. It grows to about 90 cm tall and forms a dome-shaped canopy. The leaves are light green and lance-shaped. They are about 2 cm long and somewhat shiny. In summer, it produces panicles of white flowers at the ends of its branches. In England, it is often planted in gardens as a hardy shrub.
