ハワイ諸島のカウアイ島が原産です。高さは４〜８メートルになります。葉は狭楕円形から楕円形で、光沢があります。枝先に近いところに、花柄のある真っ赤な花を咲かせます。花弁にはフレアがあり、４．５〜６センチほどの長さです。 |

アオイ科フヨウ属の常緑低木で、学名は Hibiscus clayi。英名は Red Kauai rosemallow。 |

The Red Kauai rosemallow (Hibiscus clayi) belongs to Malvaceae (the Mallow family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands. It grows 4 to 8 m tall. The leaves are narrowly elliptic to elliptic and glossy. Bright red flowers with peduncles bloom near the ends of the branches. The petals have flares and are 4.5 to 6 cm long. |
