インド洋の南西部、モーリシャス島が原産です。高さは２〜３メートルほどになります。葉は卵形で厚く、全縁もしくは先端部に鈍鋸歯があります。枝先に近いところに淡いピンク色の花を咲かせます。花冠の中心部は、紅色です。

アオイ科フヨウ属の常緑低木で、学名は Hibiscus genevii。英名はありません。

|
The Hibiscus genevii belongs to Malvaceae (the Mallow family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to the island of Mauritius in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean. It grows to a height of 2 to 3 m. The leaves are ovate and thick, entire or bluntly serrated at the tip. Pale pink flowers are produced near the tips of the branches. The center of the corolla is red.
