ヨーロッパアルプスからバルカン半島、カルパチア山脈に分布しています。標高１２００〜２６００メートルの山地草原に生え、高さは２０〜２５センチになります。根生葉は長楕円形から倒披針形で束生し、銀白色の羊毛状の毛に被われています。夏に鮮黄色の花を咲かせます。総苞もまた白い羊毛状の毛に包まれます。わが国の「みやまこうぞりな（深山髪剃菜）」の近縁です。

キク科ヤナギタンポポ属の多年草で、学名は Hieracium villosum。英名は Shaggy hawkweed。

The Shaggy hawkweed (Hieracium villosum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the Alps, the Balkan Peninsula and Carpathians. This herb grows in upland meadows 1200-2600 m elevation and can reach 20-25 cm in height. The basal leaves are oblong to oblanceolate, fascicled and covered with densely silvery white lanate hairs. The golden-yellow flowerheads come in summer. The involucre bracts are also covered with white woolly hairs.
