ひごたい (平江帯) [Index] [Back] わが国の本州、愛知・岐阜県、広島県、四国・九州それに朝鮮半島南部に分布しています。山地の草原に生え、高さは１メートルほどになります。葉は長楕円形で羽状に深裂し、棘のような鋸歯があります。８月から１０月ごろ、青色で球形、直径５センチほどの頭花を咲かせます。  キク科ヒゴタイ属の多年草で、学名は Echinops setifer。英名はありません。  "Hogotai" (Echinops setifer) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Aichi-Gufu Prefecture, Hiroshima Prefecture of Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and the southern Korean Peninsula. This tree grows on meadows in mountainous areas, and is about 1 meter high. The leaves are oblong, divided into deep segments pinnately, with spiny toothed edges.
