ひろはケンチャやし (広葉ケンチャ椰子) [Index] [Back] オーストラリアのロードハウ島の固有種です。比較的成長の遅いヤシで、最終的には高さは１０メートルまでになります。葉は羽状複葉で、長さ２〜３メートルになります。小葉は長披針形で、約４０片が葉軸に対生し、葉軸に対しほぼ水平につきます。  ヤシ科ケンチャヤシ属の常緑小高木で、学名は Howea forsteriana。英名は Kentia palm、Thatch palm。  The Kentia palm (Howea forsteriana) belongs to Arecaceae (the Palm family). It is a semi-tall evergreen tree that is endemic to Lord Howe Island in Australia. This is a relatively slow-growing palm, eventually growing up to 10 m tall. The leaves are pinnate compound, and can reach 2-3 m long.
