The Kentia palm (Howea forsteriana) belongs to Arecaceae (the Palm family). It is a semi-tall evergreen tree that is endemic to Lord Howe Island in Australia. This is a relatively slow-growing palm, eventually growing up to 10 m tall. The leaves are pinnate compound, and can reach 2-3 m long. The leaflets are long lanceolate, and about 40 pieces grow on the leaf axis, and they are almost horizontal to the leaf axis.
