Agrimonia nipponica

"Hime-kin-mizuhiki" (Agrimonia nipponica) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a perennial herb that is native all over Japan and the Korean Peninsula. This herb grows in the montane valleys and forests, and can reach about 60 cm in height. The leaves are trifoliate to pentafoliolate with elliptic and obtuse serrated leaflets. The racems are borne on the stem apices and axils, and the yellow flowers bloom from August to September. The flowers are 5-7 mm across, smaller than "Kin-mizuhiki", and have narrow petals. The fruits are also smaller than "Kin-mizuhiki".
