The Adiantum macrophyllum belongs to the family Parkeriaceae. It is an evergreen fern that is widely distributed from the West Indies to Brazil and the Galapagos Islands. It is a species of Asiantum, but its leaves are uniseriate with large, long triangular pinnate lobes. The sorus (a group of sporangia) is formed in a long, series of pseudo-indusium on the leaf margin.
