ヨーロッパの南東部から南西部に分布しています。比較的寒冷な乾いた草原に生え、高さは１５〜２５センチになります。全体に毛が多く、マット状に広がります。葉は２回羽状複葉で、小葉には鈍鋸歯があり立体的です。夏に集散花序をだし、小さな黄色い頭花を咲かせます。

The Wooly yarrow (Achillea tomentosa) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in southeastern and southwestern Europe. It grows in relatively cold dry grasslands and is 15-25 cm tall. The entire plant is hairy and spreads out in a mat-like shape. The leaves are bipinnate compound, and the leaflets are three-dimensional with blunt serrations. It produces cymes in summer and produces small yellow flower heads.
