The "Hime-miyama-konasubi" (Lysimachia liukiuensis) belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Amami Oshima in Japan's Amami Islands. It grows on rocks along mountain streams and reaches a height of 10 to 30 cm. The stems are long, creeping, and branched, with roots emerging from the nodes. The leaves are ovate to reniform, 3 to 5 mm long, with entire margins, and arranged in opposite pairs. From around May to June, it produces one or two yellow flowers from the leaf axils. The corolla is 5-7 mm in diameter and five-lobed. It is classified as Critically Endangered (CR) on the Ministry of the Environment's Red List.
