わが国の固有種で、本州のおもに中部地方以北に分布しています。山地から亜高山帯の草地に生え、高さは２０〜８０センチになります。桿は束生し、葉は長さ１５〜３０センチの線形、葉鞘は無毛です。７月から９月ごろ、茎頂に円錐花序をだし、枝は半輪生状につきます。小穂は黄緑色から紫色を帯びて、護穎の中央脈は芒となり、長く小穂の外に突き出ます。 |

イネ科ノガリヤス属の多年草で、学名は Calamagrostis longiseta。英名はありません。 |

"Hige-nogariyasu" (Calamagrostis longiseta) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is a perennial herb that is an endemic species of Japan, and distibuted mainly in Chubu district of Honshu. This grass grows in montane to sub-alpine grasslands and can reach 20-80 cm in height. The culms are fasciculate, and the leaves are linear, 15-30 cm long, with glabrous sheathes. The spikes are borne atop of culms and the cluster-branches are arranged semi-whorled on the stems. The spikelets are tinged yellowish green to purplish, and the long arista protrude from the spikelets. |
