"Hinomisaki-giku" (Chrysanthemum x ogawae) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Hinomisaki in the midwestern part of Wakayama Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. It is an interspecific hybrid between "Shima-kan-giku" (Chrysanthemum indicum) and "Kii-shio-giku" (Chrysanthemum shiwogiku var. kinokuniense), both of which are distributed in western Japan. The stems grow in clusters, 30-70 cm tall. Pale yellow to yellow flower heads are produced in November to December in corymbs at the top of the stem. The flower heads are 1 to 2 cm in diameter, smaller than those of the "Shima-kan-giku.
