"Hime-noki-shinobu" (Lepisorus onoei) belongs to the Polypodiaceae family. It is an evergreen fern that is native from south-western Hokkaido to Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, as well as the Korean Peninsula. This fern grows on slightly sunny trunks or rocks in mountains, and it can reach 3-10 cm in height. The rhizomes are slender and long. The leaves are simple, linear to linear-spatulate with short green petioles. The tips of leaves are blunt or round. The several sori are borne on the leaf apex.
