The "Hosoba-hime-toranoo" (Pseudolysimachion linariifolium) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Kinki-district of Honshu to Shikoku and Kyushu, as well as Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula, China and eastern Russia. This herb grows in meadows, thickets, sparse forests, and up to a height of 30-80 cm. The leaves are alternate, linear to ovate-orbicular, entire or occasionally dentate. The pale bluish-purple flowers bloom in the spikes from August to October. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "追風草", and "細葉穗花" (xi ye sui hua) in Chinese.
