フエルニア・ゼブリナ (赤鬼角) [Index] [Back] アフリカの南部に広く分布しています。乾燥した礫地に生え、高さは１５センチほどになります。茎は多肉質で４稜があり、葉は早落性です。花は星形で、白色や黄色がかった地に、赤色や紫色を帯びた斑や縞模様があります。花冠の真ん中には、色鮮やかな環帯がつきます。園芸名では、「あかおにかく（赤鬼角）」と呼ばれます。 ガガイモ科フエルニア属の多年草で、学名は Huernia zebrina。英名はありません。 Huernia zebrina belongs to Asclepiadaceae (the Milkweed family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed widely in the southern Africa. This herb grows on the arid screes and can reach about 15 cm in height. The stems are succulent and quadrangular, and the leaves are short lived. The flowers are star-shaped, whitish or yellowish with red or purplish spots and lines.
