The Hungarian clover (Trifolium pannonicum) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe. This herb grows in meadows, steppes, open woods and dry slopes, and it can reach 40-80 cm in height. The leaves are trifoliate. The leaflets of the lower leaves are elliptical or obovate; middle and upper leaves with oblong to lanceolate leaflets. The white to cream flowers bloom during June to August. The fruits are pods, papery with leathery apex, one-seeded.
