東南アジアのタイを中心として、マレーシアやベトナムにも分布しています。雨林の林内に生え、樹木の幹などに着生します。茎は短く、長楕円形で斑模様の葉がつきます。初夏に花茎を伸ばし、淡いクリーム色の花を咲かせます。花披片には紫褐色の斑点があります。 |

The Paphiopedilum godefroyae belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed mainly in Thailand in Southeast Asia, but also in Malaysia and Vietnam. It grows in rainforests and attaches itself to tree trunks. It has short stems with long, elliptic, mottled leaves. In early summer, the flower scapes grow and produce pale cream-colored flowers. The tepals have purple-brown spots. |
