The Paphiopedilum godefroyae belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is distributed mainly in Thailand in Southeast Asia, but also in Malaysia and Vietnam. It grows in rainforests and attaches itself to tree trunks. It has short stems with long, elliptic, mottled leaves. In early summer, the flower scapes grow and produce pale cream-colored flowers. The tepals have purple-brown spots.
