The Paphiopedilum rothschildianum belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is endemic to Mount Kinabalu in northern Borneo, Indonesia. It grows in dimly lit tropical rainforests. The flowers are large, with dark purple spots on a brown background. The labellum looks like a pitcher. |
