中国中南部の雲南省からベトナムに分布しています。コンコロル種（Paphiopedilum concolor）とベラツルム種（Paphiopedilum bellatulum）との自然交雑種と考えられています。茎は短く、長楕円形で斑模様の葉がつきます。冬から春にかけて、短い花茎を伸ばして淡い黄白色の花を咲かせます。花披片には濃い紫色の斑点が入ります。中国語では「文山兜蘭（wen shan dou lan）」と呼ばれます。

The Wenshan paphiopedilum (Paphiopedilum wenshanense) belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Yunnan Province in south-central China to Vietnam. It is thought to be a natural hybrid between Paphiopedilum concolor and Paphiopedilum bellatulum. It has short stems with oblong, mottled leaves. In winter and spring, the short scapes produce pale yellowish-white flowers. The perianth segments have dark purple spots. In Chinese, it is called "文山兜蘭" (wen shan dou lan).
