「はくしゃかん（白射干、Pardanthopsis dichotoma）」と「ひおうぎ（檜扇、Belamcanda chinensis）」との属間交雑種です。高さは６０〜９０センチになり、葉は剣状です。７月から９月ごろ、よく分枝した花茎にさまざまな色の花を咲かせます。花色には紫色から赤色、黄色それにツートンカラーもあります。花はドライフラワーとしても利用できます。

The candy lily (X Pardancanda norrisii) belongs to Iridaceae (the Iris family). It is a perennial herb that is a hybrid between the Vesper iris (Pardanthopsis dichotoma, now Iris dichotoma) and the Blackberry iris (Belamcanda chinensis). This herb can reach 60-90 cm in height and the leaves are sword shaped. The various colored flowers come on the multi-branched stems from June through September. There are many flower colors, from purple to red, yellow or two-toned. They can also be cut for floral arrangements.
