ヨーロッパの南部に分布しています。標高８００〜２４００メートルの草地や岩礫地などに生え、高さは３０〜５０センチになります。葉は長い線形で根生します。５月から７月ごろ、片側総状花序をだし、芳香のある白色の漏斗形の花を咲かせます。

ユリ科パラディセア属の多年草で、学名は Paradisea liliastrum (syn. Paradisia liliastrum)。英名は Paradise lily。

|
The paradise lily (Paradisea liliastrum) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to southern Europe. This herb grows in alpine meadow or rocky places 800-2400 m elevation and can reach 30-50 cm in height. The leaves are long linear and basal. The unilateral racemes are borne and bloom funnel-shaped, fragrant, white flowers from May to July.
