南アメリカのブラジルからパラグアイ、アルゼンチンに分布しています。蔓性で他の樹木などに絡みついて伸びます。葉は３裂し、直径７センチほどの淡い藤色の花を咲かせます。花披片は白く、副花冠は藤色と白色の縞模様です。果実は５センチほどで淡黄色に熟しますが、アルカロイドが含まれ非常に有毒です。

トケイソウ科トケイソウ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Passiflora gibertii。英名はありません。

The Passiflora gibertii belongs to Passifloraceae (the Passion flower family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in South America from Brazil to Paraguay and Argentina. It is a vine that grows by twining itself around other trees and plants. It has three lobed leaves and produces pale mauve flowers about 7 cm in diameter. The perianth segments are white, and the corona is striped with mauve and white. The fruit is about 5 cm long and ripens to a pale yellow color, but it contains alkaloids and is extremely poisonous.
