ブラジルの南東部、サンパウロ州からサンタカタリーナ州に分布しています。茎は細く円形で、葉は３中裂します。花は直径９〜１２センチで花披片と萼片は紫色、副花冠は淡青紫色と白色のストライプです。果実は楕円形の液果で、黄緑色に熟します。本種は１９９７年に正式に種名登録されました。種小名はスエーデンの植物学者、アルベルト・ロフグレン（Albert Albert Löfgren）に因みます。

The Passiflora loefgrenii belongs to Passifloraceae (the Passion flower family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in the southeastern part of Brazil, from São Paulo to Santa Catarina. The stems are slender and circular, and the leaves have three lobes. The flowers are 9 to 12 cm in diameter, with purple perianth segments and pale blue-purple and white coronas. The fruit is an elliptic berry that ripens to yellow-green. This species was officially registered in 1997. The specific epithet is named after the Swedish botanist Albert Löfgren.
