The Mexican weeping pine belongs to Pinaceae (the Pine family). It is a tall evergreen tree that is native to central and eastern Mexico. It grows up to 15 m tall and spreads horizontally by branching out from the lower part of the trunk. The leaves are needle-shaped, 15 to 35 cm long, and 3 to 5 of them grow in bunches. Today, the tree is widely planted in Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, and other countries. The wood is used for construction, utensils, pulp, fuel, and other purposes.
