ヨーロッパアルプスやアペニン山脈に分布しています。標高２５００メートル未満の牧草地や流れの辺、藪などに生え、高さは２０〜５０センチになります。葉は、２〜３回羽状複葉です。７月から８月ごろ、淡黄色の花を、短い穂状花序に密に咲かせます。上唇はくちばし状になりません。

ゴマノハグサ科シオガマギク属の多年草で、学名は Pedicularis foliosa。英名は Leafy lousewort。

The leafy lousewort (Pedicularis foliosa) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe; the Alps and the Apennines. This herb grows in meadows, streamsides or scrubs, to 2500 m elevation, and can reach 20-50 cm in height. The leaves are 2-3 pinnately-lobed. The pale yellow flowers bloom in dense short spikes from July to August. The upper lip is not beaked.
