スカンジナビア半島の山地やアルプスに分布しています。標高１９５０メートルまでの、ふつうは石灰岩地の湿気のある草地や岩場などに生え、高さは１０〜２５センチになります。葉は羽状に浅裂します。根生葉は束生し、茎葉は互生します。７月から８月ごろ、密な総状の花序に黄色い花を咲かせます。上唇の先端には、深紅色の斑があります。

ゴマノハグサ科シオガマギク属の多年草で、学名は Pedicularis oederi。英名は Crimson-tipped lousewort。

The crimson-tipped lousewort (Pedicularis oederi) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the mountains of Scandinavia and the Alps. This herb grows in damp meadows and rocky places, generally on limestones, to 1950 m elevation, and can reach 10-25 cm in height. The leaves are pinnately-lobed. The basal leaves are fasciculate and the cauline leaves are alternate. The flowers are yellow with crimson tips to the upper lips, and bloom in the dense racemose clusters from July to August.
