ヨーロッパの山地、アルプスやアペニン山脈、ピレネー山脈に分布しています。標高１２００〜２９００メートルの日当たりのよい、酸性土壌の草地や疎林、砂礫地などに生え、高さは１０から２５センチになります。葉は披針形で、２回羽状に浅裂します。根生葉は束生し、茎葉は互生します。６月から８月ごろ、つまった総状の花序に、淡い黄色の花を咲かせます。花冠には、長いくちばし状の上唇があります。

ゴマノハグサ科シオガマギク属の多年草で、学名は Pedicularis tuberosa。英名は Long beaked yellow lousewort。

The long beaked yellow lousewort (Pedicularis tuberosa) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the European mountains; the Alps, Apennine and the Pyrenees mountains. This herb grows in sunny meadows, open woods and screes on acid rocks,1200-2900 m elevation, and can reach 10-25cm in height. The leaves are lanceolate and two-pinnately-lobed. The basal leaves are fasciculate and the cauline leaves are alternate. The pale yellow flowers bloom in the dense racemose clusters from June to August. The corolla has a long-beaked upper lip.
